Piagapo, Lanao del Sur – Officers of various local Abaca Farmers Cooperatives convened and organized themselves as one Federation in an event initiated by the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism held on February 15, 2022 at the ABC Hall.
According to MTIT personnel, the necessity of organizing abaca farmers into one big Federation is significantly timely considering abaca as one of the major growing industries in this town. Jolainie S. Tagoranao, Senior Cooperative Development Specialist, said in her speech that the new born Federation is the first-of-its-kind to operate in the whole of Lanao del Sur, while vice mayor Ali L. Sumandar inspired, in his speech, the participants by sharing them with the boundless benefits of an organized body as a legal entity.
