Around 2000 forest tree seedlings have been planted by the community stakeholders on Friday in a tree-planting and growing activity in the municipality of Piagapo in commemoration of the Philippine Arbor Day which is celebrated every 25th of June.
The said activity was conducted by the local government in collaboration with the National Power Corporation-Watershed Management Division and the Professional Regulation Commission. Other agencies who participated in the activity were Armed Forces of the Philippines (51st IB), local Sangguniang Kabataan, local PNP and BFP, local Association of Barangay Captains, professional sector, and the Society of Filipino Foresters, Inc..
No less than Piagapo Vice Mayor Ali L. Sumandar and Watershed Mgt. Division-MinGen Manager Kharis R. Maranda graced the event and led the actual tree-planting activities.
