Alhamdulillah & Congratulations to All!!! Piagapo, Lanao del Sur - Incumbent Piagapo Vice Mayor Ali Lawi Sumandar won a landslide victory in the mayoralty race with 13511 votes over his rival Punong Barangay Mauyag Bato who garnered 301 votes.
With 100% of the election returns counted, Sumandar’s running mate neophyte yet unopposed candidate Norombae M. Manalocon was also proclaimed winner as Vice Mayor along with the eight council aspirants.
October 8, 2021- Incumbent Piagapo vice mayor Ali L. Sumandar filed Certificate of Candidacy for mayoralty return.

Congratulations to Piagapo former mayor now vice mayor Engr. Ali L. Sumandar, cited as one of the six awardees for the Salamat Excellence Award for Leadership in the entire Bangsamoro Region.
Mayor Sumandar is the only awardee from the province of Lanao del Sur. He recieved a 18 karat medallion worth 311 thousand pesos, a plaque of recognition, and 2.5 million pesos worth of project.
The award is conferred by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government-BARMM earlier today.

Vice Mayor Sumandar is an OFW in Australia who had left his comfortable lifestyle there to salvage his hometown from its dire reputation. In 2013, he joined politics and made it. Today, he is serving his kababayan as vice mayor.

The Salamat Excellence Award for Leadership (SEAL), named in honor of the great Bangsamoro revolutionary leader Shiek Salamat Hashim, is a Leadership Excellence program initiated and designed by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) that will look at Local Chief Executives who have emulated and demonstrated Accountable, Participatory, and Service-Oriented Leadership which have verifiable impact to the achievement of the four core strategies in running public organizations.
The Program aims to contribute in the establishment of a Moral Governance in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region by:
a) Popularizing the principle of volunteerism and primacy of common good as demonstrated by Shiek Salamat Hashim as key to regional peace and development;
b) Encouraging Local Chief Executives (LCEs) and Leaders to embrace the principles of accountability, participatory and service-oriented as key to local development; and
c) Instilling in the heart and mind of leaders and communities the culture of patriotism and promotion of social responsibility.
Municipality of Piagapo is very proud and honored to have welcomed the Regional Validation Team for the Salamat Excellence Award for Leadership.
